Notes, details, observations:

01. Programming courses are using an integrated package: Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0.
02. General purpose (productivity) applications software is delivered through an integrated package: Microsoft Office '97.
03. The standard operating systems is Microsoft Win NT 4.0 (client, workstation version).
04. Personal Information Management (PIM) is delivered through Microsoft Outlook '97 (e-mail, calendar, "to do" list, etc.).
05. For building Web pages, the HTML editor options are: Netscape 4.*, Internet Explorer 4.*, Office '97 (save as .html option).
06. More specialized Web pages design can be done via Microsoft Front Page '98, or similar package (optional).
07. For the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) modeling, the CASE tools are: Systems Architect ('87 version) and Salsa (database modeling).
08. For general drawing, flowcharting, diagramming needs options are: Microsoft PowerPoint, MS Draw, Visio or alike (optional).
09. For Math formulas, students can use Microsoft Equation Editor.
10. For Statistics needs, SPSS 7.5 or Microsoft Excel can be used.
11. For project management Microsoft Project 98 is suggested.
12. For configuration change control and management Microsoft Safe Source is recommended.  It can be purchased as an add-on to the Visual Studio.
13. The computer laboratories are equipped with PCs, Pentium class, medium configuration.
14. For the GIS course, ArcView is the minimum required.
15. Software packages needs for the MSIT program are tentative in nature.  They require further selection and implementation in the coming months.
16. The above list of software packages are the recommended standard.  However, students are "free" to use other or similar packages.  That being the case, there is no support from either faculty nor AFCA as far as help or tutoring.
