Students' Evaluation or Participation

Dr. Cliff, this was one of the most intense classes I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of.  I now understand the time commitment required to complete an on-line course and look forward to taking other classes in the future. Hopefully, they will include resources of the type that you provided. Thanks again. John Alvarez (UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management Systems, April 2001)

The clarity and directness of the textbook was excellent, and the tips on the software Professor C.K. We are lucky to have Professor Cliff Kettemborough to help us.  He is knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. The examples and lectures Cliff gave us made all the difference in its usefulness.  His knowledge of the subject is immense.  In all aspects of the course he was superb.  Cliff was very positive ion everyway.  Answered questions with so much explanation needed for you to understand.  Excellent Web site.  Very informative.  Good instructor, nice personality.  He has a very in depth knowledge and passion for the subject.  Cliff was always available for help.  The lectures and class discussions were most useful to me.  Dear Professor Cliff, I would like to thank you for your patient instruction in C Programming, even though I did not complete the material to my self-satisfaction.  I enjoyed your class, and I am looking forward to the next time we get to have the pleasure of you instruction. Thank you!  Sincerely, Carl (University of Redlands, Introduction to Structured Programming Techniques with C, March, 2001)

Cliff has an extensive wealth of information which he effectively portrays during the class.  He brings with him his expertise and knowledge in various subject areas and his valuable experience.  Cliff extends the content of the course to include practical examples and up-to-date industry information.  Instructor was a good communicator and has considerable knowledge in this field.  Cliff is well prepared, knowledgeable and energetic.  A state-of-the-art course!  Instructor was flawless; course materials he presented were outstanding!  Instructor was very good!  He was very knowledgeable about current topics in IT field.  Good communicator.  Presentation material was excellent.  (UCLA Extension, Advanced Database Management Systems, March 2001)

The instructor is very flexible.  He always was available for open questions and answers.  He is very helpful.  Good class discussion!  He demonstrated how important is IS and help me learn.  Instructor provides good tools and tips for information systems field.  He encourages students to do more to succeed in their careers.  I appreciated Cliff sharing with students his very valuable experiences in the IS field.  Very knowledgeable instructor.  (University of Redlands, Management of Data Resources, February, 2001)

Knows the subject.  He's currently working in this field.  Knows a great deal.  Presents ideas clearly when asked a specific question.  Overall a good instructor.  Personally, a nice guy.  Very knowledgeable. When the teacher teaches he is very good. (Azusa Pacific University, Software Engineering, February, 2001)

I enjoyed a lot this class.  Instructor availability, personal, one-on-one during lab sessions helped me immensely.  Cliff seemed eager to help students understand the subject.  (University of Redlands, Programming Techniques with Visual Basic, February, 2001)

Prof. is very knowledgeable to the subject.  He alwasy encourages students to ask questions.  Dr. Kettemborough's style is more of a facilitator of learning rather than a teacher and for that I am grateful!  I rate him "a star."  The intructor knows the subject matter very well and is responsive to students needs.  Good textbook and knowledgeable instructor.  Prof. encourages stuydents to ask questions.  Excellent book and teacher.  Again, refreshing to be traeated as an adult.  I was encouraged to do my own thinking and to be responsible for my own learning.  Cliff's style of teaching is great.  Students must learn to develop their own study skills and must take ownership of their work. (University of Redlands, Managing Data Resources, February 2001)

Cliff shows a true concern for each student and their goal of completing their Senior Project.  He gives individual attention to each project and directs with the excellent knowledge he has in the field.  It has been a true pleasure to have Cliff as an instructor. (University of Redlands, Systems Analysis and Design, March 2000)

Dr. Kettemborough makes the course material very easy to understand even for those of us who have a weak background in computers. His class was both enlightening as well as enjoyable.  He was very receptive to students. (University of Redlands, Introduction to Visual Programming with Visual Basic, April 2000)

Just wanted to say that the course was great and definitely an eye-opener.  After wrestling with data modeling (in Sybase's Power Designer)and reading parts of the text over and over, I certainly have a better understanding of databases and the process one needs to go through to achieve a successful design.  And one thing that really hit home was the fact to build a large functional database that won't break, the whole process really is a "team sport." Once again, thanks. The pace was somewhat frentic at times (as is the real world), but I thoroughly enjoyed the class.  Thanks for a great course. I'll be looking for some of the courses you were hoping to get started.  Interesting class dynamics too!  Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Great! Thanks very much for a very good first experience with online learning. It was a pleasure enrolling in your course. I was very satisfied with the material as well as the course format (i.e., quizzes, homework, final project). (UCLA Extension, Database Management Systems, July 2000)

I wish this instructor could teach more CS courses.  Excellent teaching and explanation abilities.  I usually don't learn much in programming classes, but I have to admit that I learned plenty of Java.  He really goes into detail explaining code, line by line.  I'd definitely recommend this teacher to otters. (CSLA, Java Programming, June 2000)

Thanks for a good learning experience, a very well organized course and a friendly reception. (UCLA Extension, Database Management Systems, August 2000)

Instructor clearly knows the subject.  The instructor made this material easy to grasp. (National University, Computer Architecture, November 1999)

Excellent professor.  Teacher was very helpful in regard to questions.  Course was the hardest I've had yet. (National University, Data Modeling, February 2000)

I enjoyed the class very much, keep up the good work and hope to see you in future classes! I enjoyed the course very much! Once again thanks for a great class!!! I would like to add that it was great having you as an instructor and I look forward to taking another with you. I hope to see you teaching more of our classes down the road. Thanks again for the great experiences. Looking forward to study under you again. (Azusa Pacific University - Operating Systems, August 2000)

Keep up the good work, I am learning a lot.  You are an excellent professor. (National University, E-Commerce, on-line course, August 2000)

Cliff allowed us to learn rather than pushing an issue of teaching.  Very good instructor.  Cliff emphasized class participation and interactive discussion. Dr. Cliff stimulated our thoughts and forced us to use our own intellect to solve the assignments.  Cliff created a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere which made learning much easier.  Cliff exposed teaching theories using real life experiences which brought interest and motivation to the subject.  Good background, lots of good exposure. (Azusa Pacific University, Client/Server Applications, May, 2000)

Absolutely, excellent instructor.  Cliff has a wealth of knowledge and it was beneficial to my growth in the CIS program.  Dr. Kettemborough's Web site is one of the best I ever seen!  The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and he was able to pass on his knowledge with ease.  He possesses current and pertinent information, and treats all of his students fairly demonstrating a genuine interest in everyone's progress.  Cliff is obviously VERY knowledgeable about the subject matter and technologies and he has ease in sharing that knowledge.  Dr. Kettemborough brought a wealth of personal experience in the filed and in life.  Cliff has a lot of knowledge and he is able to show how to do things.  (Azusa Pacific University, Operating Systems, July, 2000)

I just wanted you to know that your course was very helpful to me specially now that I am taking Oracle classes.  I just wanted to thank you for a very interesting, worthwhile course. The material covered was more in-depth and comprehensive than I originally anticipated, but I really enjoyed getting "under-the hood" of database implementation and theory.  I wish you the best and hope to possibly take another programming/database course with you in the future.  Thanks for a very good course. I actually got way more out of it than I expected. The online experience was enlightening, and the material in the textbook was far more modern than I expected, judging from the publication date. It is hard for textbooks to stay current for long. And as you indicated at the beginning of the course, there was a GREAT QUANTITY of material and new ideas, even if we all fell well short of your expectations. If I can keep my new job, I will undoubtedly be continuing to study up on the materials you have made available on your site. I have already had to immerse myself in IBM web sites and documentation of specific needs. Take care of yourself, and I wish you success in your endeavors.  (UCLA Extension, Database Management Systems, September 2000)

Cliff is a superb instructor.  He is very easy to understand and very informative.  I would love to have him again.  I thoroughly enjoyed Cliff’s presentations and class discussions.  Please bring him back for any of our courses to which he is knowledgeable.  (University of Redlands, Finite Mathematics II, September 2000)

This class was well taught.  Mr. Kettemborough took time to cover basic concepts and allowed in class lab time, which greatly helped me apply what was taught.  I hope to have Mr. Kettemborough for all ISYS courses.  The instructor was superb.  He explained in detail and made sure the student understood.  He goes out of his way to be available for the student.  I would highly recommend this instructor to anyone.  (University of Redlands, Database Concepts, September 2000)

I have found that you are putting more time and effort into this online course than many of my college professors put into their courses.  I am learning a lot so far and am really looking forward to the rest of the class.  Thanks for the good class. (UCLA Extension, Relational DBMS, October 2000)

I am writing this email to express my high level of satisfaction after having completed the CST 621 Embarking on Electronic Commerce course. Professor Clifford R. Kettemborough was really outstanding; every once in a while students encounter a professor that makes a lasting impression on them by teaching or better yet challenging the students abilities to become creative and to actually implement the course content.  For a professor to be able to accomplish this in an online environment is very impressive.  Cliff as we called him in class/chat was always the facilitator. Even though some students had to learn rather quickly that he was all about the business, the bottom line was that he pushed us to the point where we had to work collectively in groups yet be responsible for our individual assignments. The class group projects where outstanding and the final individual research paper covered all the topics in the course. In my professional opinion this was a "Graduate Level Class". This is not a reflection on the other courses in the program, however, this course has set the standard thus far.  The chat sessions where great, assignments challenging, course material pertinent and attitudes professional.  All I can say, is the University did a excellent job as related to selecting Professor Cliff to be a member of the NU staff. (National University, E-Commerce, August, 2000)

The group project was a real asset and a great part of the course.  Cliff is an excellent instructor.  NU should use him for all the E-commerce course.  (National University, Web sites: Information Architecture, on-line, August, 200)

A very understanding professor both in a professional and personal ways.  He's smart!  Excellent professor!  Instructor is very fair and encouraging to pursue more course in computer language. (University of Redlands, Introduction to programming with 'C', November, 2000)

Thank you very much for your patience and wonderful lecture notes.  (Programming in Java for Professionals, UCI - online, December, 2000)

Dr. Cliff - interestingly enough...I have a colleague who is taking the on campus version of the same class and we recently compared our progress in Java. I am MILES ahead after the instruction that I've received by taking your class online and I thank you for it. I look forward now to taking the advanced class and eventually my certification. (Learning Tree University, Java Programming, December 2000)

Thank you very much for the course.  The subject matter was very broad and difficult for me, I guess as any "intro" course is expected to be.  However, I'm taking to heart your advise, "Repetitio mater studii " - "The mother of study is repetition!"  The review of all the materials you provided and the text at the end of the course was especially helpful--it was amazing how much clearer certain concepts were when revisited at the end of the course.  Again, thank you.  It's been a pleasure taking your class and I've learned a lot. (UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management, on-line, January 2001)

University: Please note Cliff is an asset to this university.  Great instructor.  Instructor enthusiasm for the subject and his challenging approach are his strengths.  Cliff is the greatest.  Cliff real world experiences are a great asset to this course.  Cliff is fair and willing to answer all questions.  He also has a pleasant demeanor and a wealth of knowledge. (University of Redlands, Decision Support Systems, November, 2000)

The instructor knowledge is immense.  The instructor is very knowledgeable.  This is a great class.  It was refreshing to be treated as an adult.  I liked instructors style and approach.  (University of Redlands, Management of Information Systems, December, 2000)

Very knowledgeable about computer science.  Knows his stuff, when prompted, can give exceptional presentation on specific topics.  Quickly can sum 515 problems in documentation.  Very knowledgeable.  Instructor is an excellent communicator and unusually good at explaining complicated subject matters.  Is also interesting to listen to, which facilitates good learning.  Instructor is very knowledgeable and very effective.  Cliff started off slow mainly I believe because he got his assignment so late.  Midway through the quarter, Cliff began to hit his stride improved.  He obviously possesses a lot of knowledge of the subject and will prove himself a valuable resource. (Azusa Pacific University, Software Engineering I, November, 2000)

Prof. Kettemborough is a very knowledgeable instructor.  Cliff helped us with advice on the final project.  Cliff is a great instructor and he does his best to place it in the real world.  Instructor did a great job in explaining how large the industry is and to consider the field for employment opportunity.  Cliff did a great job bringing the subject back to his working world/his former employers - a real world experience that we all liked.  Instructor is a great mind with a great knowledge.  I enjoyed a lot instructor's methodology.  His interest in the topic encouraged me to work harder.  Very good instructor - he is the best!  Great class, very interesting topic.  (University of Redlands, Geographic Information Systems, February, 2001)

I wanted to thank you for providing a good class.  I think the group approach was a good one. It was certainly a learning experience to manage a project with people scattered around the country!  Cliff, I just wanted to let you know that this has been a really great class for me.  I have learned so much about EC through the units and the additional research I've done for the class.  It has confirmed in my mind that pursuing this is clearly the right thing for me to do and that I have some great opportunities in EC.  Thanks for all you've done to make it that way! Regards, Doug (National University, Embarking on E-Commerce, March 2000)

Cliff is doing a nice job mentoring and I appreciate all the work (not to mention talent) that it takes.  Thanks for teaching a good class and providing good insight during the lectures.  It was a good experience.  Thank you!!!  I just want to thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.  I went into this class knowing VERY LITTLE about databases, and I now feel I have an incredibly strong base upon which I can build.  You have been incredibly helpful!!  Thank you very much.  Even though I've been involved in relational database design for many years.  It was very helpful to become familiar with current techniques and evolving standards.  I would be interested in a Rational Rose class should you create one.  Thanks again.  Chris R. Jacobs, Practice Director - Western Region JDEdwards Practice
(UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management, online, March 2000)

I am sure it will be a pleasure to have you as instructor for this class.  Your Bio gives me great confidence in you, knowing that you will be challenging me to develop a good foundation to continue learning as Database Technology grows.  I am already impressed by the interactive nature of this class and the amount of ‘personality’ it has already developed.  Good to meet you! (UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management, online, February 2000)

This is to say a big thank you for your continuous assistance. (University of Redlands, Programming in Visual Basic, February, 2000)

On behalf of the entire class, we cannot thank you enough for your time and efforts.  We are all really excited and nervous about this class for many reasons.  Particularly, we have NO IDEA about our senior project and would like to
hear anything you have to say about it.  Thanks again and let me know if I can assist you with anything. (University of Redlands, Introduction to OO Programming with Visual Basic, February 2000)

I enjoyed your class and got a lot out of it.  I learned a lot from chatting with Barbara and David.  I did not have this in the other on-line class that I took and it makes a tremendous impact when trying to learn this material.  Thanks again!  I had to really work hard but I find that this class has already helped be at work.  I also visited the headquarters of a company yesterday in PA (we are considering licensing a DB application for banks), and was pleasantly amused when I saw the reaction of the chief software architect and others, when I was asking detailed questions about the DB and how they were able to achieve certain features using subtype/super type relationships.  After all, I was introduced as the "financial guy" at the meeting.  Needless to say, I now think that the course was more than worth the money to me at that point! (UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management, online, January 2000)

Cliff explained things in a good way and organized.  He covered the textbook and really did try his best, despite the book was boring!!!  (Woodbury University, PC Operating Systems, December 1999)

Cliff was energetic and very knowledgeable regarding the subject.  Cliff's background, knowledge, enthusiasm sense of humor, and experience were very valuable to the course.  Cliff is highly knowledgeable in the field.  (Keller Graduate School of Management, MIS, graduate level, November, 1999)

Great course to learn.  Very important to keep the notes in the future.  The instructor is very knowledgeable in this subject.  I gained a lot of software engineering hands on experience and my ability to do research has improved. (National University, Principles of Software Engineering, August 1999)

I feel good about my accomplishments in this course and feel that I have learned more than I ever thought I really wanted to.  It has been a pleasure working with you.  Thank you for having taken me on as a student.  I think I would have liked taking some of my other coursework with you. (Chapman University, File Processing with C++, January, 2000)

I am very appreciative of your extreme flexibility with working with me. (Chapman University, Programming in C++, January, 2000)

I was very pleased with the on-line experience and look forward to taking other classes with a database/data warehousing emphasis.  It has been a great experience for me to be part of this class and I really thank the instructor for his help.  I learned a lot and I would like to be able to apply all that I have learned pretty soon.  I've enjoyed the class even though it was trying at first.  I am continuing with my quest to enhance my technical skills and move on into IT.  Thanks for a great start.  On with the next class.  I'm taking VBA for Access next.  Hopefully, my online experience in this class will help tremendously.  Once again, thanks for a great class.  I hope you don't mind if I touch base with you in the future.  I could use your guidance in this seemingly impossible quest.  Hope to take another class with you.  I enjoyed the class and learned what I had hoped.  …when we finally got things rolling, it was pretty good.  Enjoyed the class.  Thanks for everything.  I am speaking the same language as my IT associates already.  I also appreciate that instructor took our exposure level to the topic into account.  Again, many thanks. (UCLA Extension, Relational Database Management - online course, October 1999)

Cliff was a very knowledgeable teacher and his web page is an outstanding source of information.  Cliff did an excellent job at involving the students in discussions; lectures were very interactive and informative; he helped a lot with his "real-world" experience.  Always he offered assistance.  Dr. Kettemborough is by far the most intelligent IT/IS computer person I have ever met.  He is pleasant and is also able to somewhat related the subject to the outside world to some degree (for us).  Cliff was the first teacher that helped us prepare for future classes by explaining how the project worked.  He gave us time to ask questions and explained each answer in detail.  (University of Redlands, Telecommunications and New Media, September 1999)

Cliff is a GREAT teacher and is so well versed on the subject matter.  His practical application of the material is superb!  Instructor was very knowledgeable and did not make me fill intimidated.  This was a new experience for me.  Cliff knows how to create an open environment that encourages discussions.  All group/individual presentations were accepted and valued.  I learned quite a bit in this course.  Cliff was a great instructor.  I am now a fan and student of MIS - thanks to Cliff!   I learned info that applied to strategy and other classes.  Should have been required earlier in the program.  Helped with presentations and analytical thinking.  (Pepperdine University, Management of Information Systems, August 1999)

Professor Kettemborough...Your dedication to teaching is evident.  You have inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in Information Sysrtems.  Your willingness to help me as a student despite your busy schedule is greatly appreciated.  I learned a lot from you and I know that will help me with my research.  Thank you again!  (Pepperdine University student, Management of Information Systems, August 1999)

What Dr. Kettemborough does best is teaching!  Great class!  Very interesting topics and lab. (Woodbury University, Computer Networks, May 1999)

This class was very enjoyable.  I hope to take more classes from this instructor in the future.  Cliff has the unique ability to take a difficult subject and make it easy.  I truly enjoyed working under Dr. Kettemborough.  Thank you for a great class!  (National University, CASE Tools and Software Development, May 1999)

This guy is TOP NOTCH!  Dr. Kettemborough is an excellent professor.  He has a wonderful sense of humor and makes the class very interesting.  Above all, he's very knowledgeable on the field and knows how to trsnamit his knowledge to us.  He's great!  I have the highest respect regard for Dr. Kettemborough's teaching ability and skill.  I particularly like how he operated the class like that of a business organization.  I wanted to tell how much I enjoyed this class this semester.  I hope to have Cliff as a professor again someday and I wish him continued success always!  I had a great time in this class!  Excellent professor.  Shows passion for his work.  Witty and intelligent sense of humor.  I love the fact that although grade is important, this professor has a successful style of de-emphasizing grades in lieu of learning.  Great style!  I felt the teacher cared about the individual student and I appreciate that you encouraged learning and not to be worried about getting a good grade.  Top stuff!  The case studies and project presentations were excellent extension of practical applications for the class.  More teachers who not only apply this experience to the class and know how to communicate that to students, as Dr. Kettemborough dows could enhance the overall Business program at Pepperdine.  I found the instructor teaching style and his definition of boundaries with clear and concise instructions important to class instruction.  It's obvious the instructor is very bright and very knowledgeable about the subject - especially in applications for business environment.  I appreciated teh concepts, possibilities of current technological items of discussion.  Instructor is very knowledgeable of the subject and explains thier uses in the business world very effectively.  The real world application of the material was clearly illustrated.  Fairly effective.  Great knowledge.  The class was informative and interesting.  The instructor has a wealth of real world knowledge and share thsi with the class frequently.  The instructor was funny and insightful.  I enjoyed the class a lot.  Instructor is extremely knowledgeable in his field.  I liked the knowledge that Dr. Kettemborough brings in from his past job experiences.  Professor has a witty sense of humor that does not insult members of the class.  Dr. Kettemborough is one of the best instructors that I ever have had.  He has made me think very seriously about pursuing a career in information systems.  I feel the professor is very intelligent and terribly well informed.  I feel I was fortunate to have Cliff as an instructor.  (Pepperdine University, Management of Information Systems, April 1999)

Dr. Kettemborough is extremely knowledgeable on lectured materials.  The materials are difficult to read, however, teacher is very enthusiastic about showing his knwoledge on teh topics!  Cliff is a great guy!  He treats us as responsible adults and puts us in the driver seat of our educational journey.  I appreciate this.  Cliff has a wealth of knowledge with which we had the priviledge to receive a small amount.  I am personally understanding Stats a lot more than from my undergraduate due to the exams process.  The choice of textbooks has been very good for me.  The use of Excel is extremely useful in the real life.  The textbooks were excellent.  I enjoyed the class; I liked how the instructions were clear and appreciate the ease of accessibility for assistance from the instructor.  Overall, good course and instructor.  The textbooks and assignments were relevant and real world examples.  I would recommned this teacher to others.  (Pepperdine University, Statistics and Business Research, MBA, April, 1999)

The instructor was great and very knowledgeable.  Teacher speaks on work situations that are real and need to learn a lot about.  Professor did a great job given the limited timetable he had to work with.  (Pepperdine University, Management of Information Systems, February 1999)

Dr. Kettemborough is very knowledgeable on the subject and clearly explains networking principles, leaving no stone unturned.  Dr. Kettemborough has a unique and wonderful approach to the class which made learning extremely easy and fun.  Cliff made this class enjoyable and very informative.  Instructor gave a clear understanding of the material.  (National University, Computer Networks, February 1999)

Excellent teacher.  Would like to have him again!  He knew the subject backwards and forwards!  (University of Redlands, Business Information Systems, January 1999)

Thank you Mr. Kettemborough.  I enjoyed your class. Very approachable, professional, and made this course interesting and somewhat stress free.  This is the kind of class I pictured when I chose BSIS as my major.  I enjoyed this class!!  This was a good class.  The lab time was excellent; permitting students to work at their own pace was an excellent concept.  It permitted time to really learn and not be rushed through new processes.  I got so much out of this class!  I am so glad the teacher allowed us to go at our pace.  I understood all procedures.  I read and was able to practice.  Thank you for this patient teacher.  (University of Redlands, Programming with VisualBasic, January 1999)

Cliff's people skills are incredible.  I've learned more in this six weeks than I have in most of my classes.  Cliff's class taught me an incredible amount of
information!  I thought Cliff did a wonderful job with the class.  Cliff course was one of the best courses; I would take it again.  My instructor, Clifford Kettemborough is a genius.  He not only knows the subject, he knows how to transfer his knowledge and experience to the students.  His fast facts, hot topics and constant feedback on my class participation and level of understanding (as demonstrated by my homework) have helped me move quickly through what would otherwise be a difficult course.  I can only hope to get Cliff again.  He makes learning a challenge and I get a sense of achievement when I complete the assignments.  I don't think Cliff knows failure, at least he doesn't behave that way.  I've had to withdraw from several other classes, feeling like a failure, but learning under Cliff's instruction I have built my confidence level higher than it's ever been.  (University of Phoenix, Software Development Project Management, Master's On-Line Program, January 1999)

Cliff is an excellent instructor with a sincere desire to teach and help us learn.  He gave us many opportunities to get help and learn new ideas.  His classroom manners and style were appreciated.  Cliff is a good instructor and tries to include all class material in classroom discussions.  (University of Redlands, Programming with 'C', October 1998)

Instructor was very knowledgeable.  Dr. Kettemborough has a great sense of humour which added to his class.  Instructor intricate knowledge and use of humour.  He is a brilliant man.  He's excellent, challenging and good.  The instructor and course material enhanced my learning experience and has inspired more interest in information systems. (Pepperdine University, Management of Information Systems, December 1998)

Good class - knowledgeable instructor. (University of Redlands, Management of Information Systems, MBA class, September, 1998)

Excellent instructor.  The instructor had helped to develop more understanding about the importance of MIS in business.  Very well educated individual, too smart for this program.  Cliff is great.  Thank you.  Instructor's knowledge. (University of Phoenix, Management Information Systems, MBA Program, December '98)

Cliff is great.  The interaction with the instructor.  Best instructor.  The lecture portion was very informative.  Very enthusiastic about program.  Learned a great deal from this course.  We'll be use it in the future.  The instructor challenged us to improve our writting skills.  The instructor, in my opinion, had a vast knowledge of the subject.  By far the best instructor I have had.  Excellent instructor.  Best ever.  Great instructor.  Knows how to facilitate a class, best instructor I have had so far.  He should be rewarded. (University of Phoenix, Telecommunications, October '98)

Great teacher.  Knows how to project.  The instructor, a very valuable asset to UoP.  His knowledge of information systems out ways by far the knowledge of all other instructors.  Efficiently used class time.  Sharp teacher.  Instructor that knew what he was talking about. (University of Phoenix, Database Management Systems, September '98)

The most positive experience in this course was the instructor, Mr. Kettemborough!!!  Teacher made each segment fascinating.  The instructor was no nonsense and very knowledgeable.  The course was very interesting and enlightening. (University of Phoenix, Computer Architectures, August '98)

It really have been refreshing to have someone like to Dr. Kettemborough to instruct us.  The last few instructors may be qualified to teach but do not know how lead a group. (University of Phoenix, Telecommunications, September '98)

Dr. Kettemborough is by far the most knowledgeable instructor I have had, graduate or undergraduate.  He knows how to present the information where it is easy to grasp.  I hope I'll have him again in another class, maybe Management of Data Resources.  I have never covered so much information in such a short time, and was able to understand the information.  He is an excellent instructor, don't lose him. (University of Redlands, MBA Program, ISYS 606, August '98)

The instructor was outstanding!  He made it fun!  The instructor was great!  The instructor did a great job imparting his knowledge, generating discussion and being available for questions. (University of Phoenix, Business Research Methods, June '98)

The most positive experience in this course was the professor's attitude.  Cliff helped us to learn about globality of business and its effect on our economy.  Current news, business and politics were very helpful to understanding today's business environment. (University of Phoenix, International Environment of Business, July '98)

Cliff is great!  Tough when need be, but very fair - I was surprised I learned as much as I did. (University of Phoenix, Statistics in Business, August '98)

Cliff is extremely knowledgeable in this field and he seems to be the person who developed most of this technology.  Cliff is a great instructor I would highly recommend him to future students as an instructor to take this class with.  Presentations and case studies gave me opportunity to improve my commuications skills.  Cliff was fun and interesting! Cliff, I want to take the opportunity of thanking your for the very informative course that you instructed.  Most of the lessons and classes were very informative and interesting and it is a shame that some of the students took certain classes for granted by not showing up-they could have learned a lot from just being there.  (Pepperdine University, Management Information Systems, July '98)

Great Course, Great Instructor.  Very informative, will put knowledge to practical use.  I loved the lab time and the self work...I learned a great deal of very practical information.  I appreciate the self-directed approach that was given to the learning process.  This was truly an ADULT education class.  The respect for people was GREATLY appreciated.  Presentations were particularly effective.  Participants were given the opportunity to practice speech skills.  Very effective.  Prof. Kettemborough was humorous and witty!  He presented the course material in a professional manner.  He is a great asset to the Pepperdine faculty. (Pepperdine University, Management Information Systems, April '98)

Cliff is a very good professor.  I would like to take more classes with  him.  (National University, Verification and Validation Techniques, MSSE, May '98)

Mr. Kettemborough did an outstanding job teaching this class and I look forward to other classes that he will instruct.  (National University, Advanced Software Engineering, MSSE, March '98)

Cliff is an excellent instructor.  Having experience in this field I can definitely tell you that this is an exceptional instructor.  U of R and all his students are lucky to have him.  Thanks for a great class!  Excellent instructor.  I want him for all my future computer classes.  I would like to have Cliff be the instructor of our database class.  He is a superb instructor.  Also, it would be wise to expand the length of this class to obtain the maximum value.  Would like to have this instructor for Database design.  (University of Redlands, Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic, February '98)

Prof. Kettemborough is excellent in every way.  He presented the text knowledge along with his personal real world situations.  He is excellent, excellent, excellent.  His lectures tied into interesting magazine articles that reads every day.  In a traditional classroom setting, i.e., semester, the instructor would be excellent.  The instructor is extremely knowledgeable, well-read and devised in the examples he uses in class.  I would have no problem taking another course with him.  The lectures of the professor and his knowledge are amazing. (University of Phoenix, MBA Program, Operations Management for Total Quality, January '98)

I found Cliff to be very knowledgeable and an interesting lecturer.  This has been the best course in terms of extracting out the benefits of this course without realizing that the instructor's role played was the most important.  Other instructors that will follow this instructor' style, the rest of UoP's classes would be a total success!  The instructor teaching style.  He was very informative and very interesting in topic and examples.  The instructor.  He was very well-informed and related real-life situations to our classroom studies.  Mr. Kettemborough did an excellent job in facilitating this class.  The instructor was entertaining and interesting.  This made the class more interesting.  Cliff's sense of humor, he was relaxed, which made the class relaxed.  He has great knowledge in the field. (University of Pheonix, Business Reserach Methods with Applications, January, '98)

Beyond outstanding performance of the instructor.  His knowledge and delivery methods were way above anything else we had in this MBA program, now close to the end.  I wished we had him for more classes earlier.  Let's vote Cliff for the President.  Dr. Kettemborough knowledge and teaching methods should be the standard that each instructor should be assessed by; or that may be unfair to the rest of them!  (University of Pheonix, MBA Program, Management Information Systems, February, '98)

Dr. Kettemborough, thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.  I also sincerely appreciate your flexibility in the work asssignments and allowing me to digress from the main topic and fulfill the Union Institute's requirements. Take care. (Union Institute, Introduction to Computers, February '98)

Very professional. Very knowledgeable instructor. Having a professor that knew real-world, not just theory. This course was set up for students to actually read the text and have a computer genius discuss any questions at a realistic level according to current business practices. Dr. Kettemborough treated all students as responsible professionals. I was particularly impressed with his teaching style. He let us organize our class and get as much out of the class as we wanted. Teaching MIS to us novices, I believe presents quite a challenge for any instructor. Your methodology in reviewing the text and your effectiveness in directing class discussions relating real world examples made the text palatable, and the class an effective learning tool. I felt you were non-judgemental and did not ridicule my classmates or me when we presented our many inept questions. Your help in the computer lab was also greatly appreciated. The instructor was very flexible. He was very supportive of all of the students. He encouraged everyone to voice their opinion. Made class enjoyable. I learned a lot from the instrcutor. He made learning in the class enjoyable. Very good class. Great! I found the instructor's real life situations interesting. What we did and how he applied the information being taught. I enjoyed the course. I feel I learned a great deal. (Pepperdine University, Management Information Systems, December, '97)

Excellent teacher but school should supply him with proper tools for board and computer display or viewgraph that works. Prof. Kettemborough is a distinguished professor, well versed in computer science, however lab facilities are terrible, inadequate and the book too advanced. Dr. Kettemborough made the best of situation. Intructor's wide background and experience made class interesting. Will look to take courses with this instructor in future. Dr. Kettemborough is knowledgeable and has a lot what he can offer. However, he was severely restricted by the book used and the software offered by the curriculum. I would have liked for him to teach the 'C' class, too. I could have scored better for this class. Good intro to OOP using C++. Excellent teacher! He should train all the other instructors at National how to teach. Very student orinted, really seems to want students to learn. Very intellectual. Very knowledgeable and fair instructor. Would like to have him for other classes. This teacher was able to teach the class even though the tools (computer and veiwgraphs) did not work. The instructor is very knowledgeable. A good teacher with a traditional approach even though he or anybody cannot teach the scope and volume of this work in one month. Cliff is a good instructor, he cover a lot of material in a short period of time. The professor's lectures were very satisfying. Mr. Kettemborough is a very knowledgeable on the subject. (National University, Object-Oriented Programming with C++, September, 1997)

Cliff is by far the best IS instructor I have had in the program. Cliff is an excellent instructor, I hope that I will be fortunate enough to have him again.  Please convey my thanks and gratitude to him.  Under the difficult circumstances, Cliff did a great job. (University of Redlands, Inrtroduction to Programming with Visual Basic, August, '97)

Cliff's knowledge & experience was quite enlightening. He was fair and his approach toward teaching is refreshing. Presentations by students were very informative. Your class was a pleasure. Wonderful instructor! Great instructor. Encouragement toward creativity was stressed. The intsructor treated us as adults by allowing us to be responsible for our own personal expectations. (Pepperdine University, MIS course, June '97)

Dr. Kettemborough tries to help students when they have difficulties. Good classes and willing to share his knowledge experiences. (Chapman University, Introduction to Programming with 'C' course, May '97)

He is an "excellent teacher". The instructor was very knowledgeable as well as helpful. Very sharp instructor with a great ability to assist students with the learning process!! (University of Phoenix, Introduction to Programming with 'C' course, April '97)

Cliff was very knowledgeable. Good teacher! (University of Redlands, Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic course, May '97)

Great teacher. Excellent teacher. He has deep understanding in overall field that helps to respond students in many directions.  He gets my attention & keeps it. He has sense of humor, cares about our learning, enjoys sharing his knowledge.  Easy to talk to, great personality. Good motivator, encourages students to "stick with it!" (Los Angeles Valley College, Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic course, May '97)

Outstanding instructor, obvious subject matter expert. Went the extra mile to ensure full coverage of all topics. Relate personal professional experience that reinforced text material. Instructor ensured all questions were answered and made himself available inside and outside of class. I enjoyed this course immensely. I particularly enjoyed the text and the method by which Dr. Kettemborough presented the material. Very good teacher. I appreciate the time that he helps us in class. Excellent class - learned a bunch. Cliff has, in all respects, been an outstanding instructor. His knowledge and presentation of the class topics has always impressed me. (Chapman University, Systems Analysis and Design course, April '97)

The best instructor I've had at Chapman. (Chapman University, Introduction to Programming with Visual Basic course, April '97)

Thank you! I learned a lot! I'm happy about this opportunity. (Chapman University, Introduction to Data Processing and MS Office course, March'97)

I think Cliff is a very good instructor. I wish that all of the instructors were as articulate and stimulating. One of the best classes that I have participated in. Great instructor - I don't think overheads are necessary as pointed out on a critique by another instructor. Mr. K used whiteboard and class participation excellently. Would love to have another IS class with him. Excellent knowledge of subject and this knowledge is also spread across all areas of study not just IS. Great job. (University of Redlands, Database Concepts course, March '97)

Dr. Kettemborough, thanks for your instruction. Your knowledge and expertise was excellent. (West Coast University, Database Management Systems course, January '97)

The instructor was by far the most intelligent in the IS program as of today. I expect to see him in future UoP courses. The instructor, very knowledgeable in all areas being learned. A valuable asset to the learning of such a complicated subject. Always available for private instruction - this was an instructor who would go that extra mile for the student. The instructor was the best one I have had so far at UoP. In the IS program I have had instructors that I thought should have been getting taught by me, but not Cliff. Not only is he very technical, but he presents the topics in a very fun manner. Furthermore, he is skilled in more than one discipline (AS/400, UNIX, NT, VSE). This is a rare quality to find in a systems engineer. UoP should find more instructors such as Cliff. The instructor, he was the best computer information instructor I have had. His technical knowledge came across with ease. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of computer software, programming, and overall technology. Excellent instructor. Reviewed course materials accurately. Instructor was very knowledgeable and taught very well. He presented the material in a manner which made it easy to understand and personable. (University of Phoenix, Computer Architectures course, October '96)

Cliff was an excellent teacher, he really knew his material, this type of subject is very hard to grasp but he put it in a way that was clear and I was able to understand. I really enjoyed the class and would recommend him to fellow students. He is a great asset to UoP. The school needs more teachers like him. I especially liked the way Cliff explained the software and hardware. Dr. Kettemborough was an excellent instructor. He's very knowledgeable in many subjects. The class was great. Classmates were fun and easy to communicate with. Instructor's knowledge. The instructor made the class interesting, comprehensive and enjoyable. I actually learn to enjoy studying again. I would not have continued with this class had it not been for Cliff. He was very interesting, educated and inspiring instructor. During this class I came to realize that I needed a computer. I bought a PC for home use, Cliff was great. Cliff, taught in a very interesting manner. He kept my attention very well by giving real life examples to compare book reading to business situations and his knowledge made the course much more understandable. I hope my future instructors are just as interesting. Very knowledgeable instructor, outstanding! (University of Phoenix, Computer Infromation Systems course, October '96)

Any event, I do want to tell you I enjoyed your class. The relaxed atmosphere you created was a welcome change from our previous class. I also appreciate your positive motivation even though the class was only 4 weeks long. You kept telling us that we could do it ... and I guess we did! (University of Redlands, Business Information Systems course, October '96)

Very good and nice professor. (Chapman University, Systems Analysis and Design course, June '96)

Cliff is an excellent teacher and I enjoyed the class very much, even though it was on a Friday night. (Chapman University, Information Systems course, June '96)

I enjoyed and appreciated this professor. He understands the needs of the industry and tries to get us to share our knowledge and experiences to gain from each other. Desire to help each student is exceptional. Willingness to share knowledge and time are exceptional, too. Very willing to work with students to answer questions. He allows us to ask a lot of questions and is very helpful. Cliff demonstrates a good level of flexibility in designing class projects that work well to challenge our interests. Great instructor. The professor is one of the "best-ever"!!! We need more professors like him. Very knowledgeable, professional and promotes class participation. Great instructor! It was a good class. He's doing an excellent job. (National University, Data Structures course, March '96)

He is good! (West Coast University, Object-Oriented Programming with C++ course, March '96)

Thanks for the change of pace, and the instruction in Assembly Programming, look forward to seeing you instruct other classes at National University. (National University, Assembly Programming course, January '96)

For a very complex subject, the instructor made the topics discussed very interesting. The use of visual aids taken directly from the book also helped me understand the material covered. Cliff was a great instructor. He took a class that could have been either boring or complicated and made it interesting and fun. I learned a lot about information systems as well as other aspects of business that apply to my job. (University of Redlands, Business Information Systems course, January '96)

I learned a lot from this course. Dr. Kettemborough is a good instructor and a fair grader. (West Coast University, Advanced Topics in Artificial Intelligence course, October '95)

Overall he is a great teacher! (National University, CASE tools for Software Engineering course, January '95)

He is a good instructor, he knows his material well. (Chapman University, Advanced Programming with Pascal course, August '95)

Very good and satisfying course. (West Coast University, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course, July '95)

Comparing Dr. Kettemborough with any other instructor is unfair. He's so good, at any topic (and I took several classes with him), that makes anyone else just look bad!… Sad, but true! (Chapman University, Database Management course, July '95)

Very good instruction. I learned a lot about systems. (Chapman University, Systems Analysis and Design course, June '95)

I was satisfied with the material presented. (Chapman University, Data Structures with Pascal course, April '95)

I enjoyed my time with you even though the topic was COBOL. (University of Redlands, COBOL Programming Techniques course, April '95)

Well educated on subject, discussed all topics. (West Coast University, Artificial Intelligence course, April '95)

Outstanding! Very good teacher. (West Coast University, Computer Systems Evaluation course, January '95)

Excellent. Instructor was very knowledgeable. I feel this professor is very knowledgeable in the related subject. I have been with National University since 1987, and I find this instructor to be one of the best instructors here at N.U. and I wish there should be more like him. (National University, Verification and Validation Techniques course, September '94)

Once again, Cliff's knowledge of the subject material helps when teaching. Interested in subject, knows his subject. He teaches object-oriented concepts excellent; extremely knowledgeable. He is very good teacher. I would like to thank you for teaching the last three classes and sharing your software engineering expertise with us. I feel that I learned a great deal about the software engineering process in your classes. Your teaching methods provided a great learning experience. I would welcome the opportunity of having you for an instructor in the future. Your class gave us the opportunity, and more importantly your insight into the software development process, that we needed (and did not get in our other classes). Thank you! (National University, Advanced Software Engineering course, August '94)

Cliff's knowledge of Software Engineering is fantastic. He gives superb examples that aid in the clarification of subject matter. His lecture style is very good. I feel after each lecture I understand the principles of Software Engineering. Very knowledgeable on subject material. Very professional presentations. Classworks was very challenging. Cliff has the ability to address a very dry subject such as Software Engineering and make it interesting and almost entertaining. He is a very good professor. He has an up-to-date high level of knowledge and experience but course attempted to do too much so we couldn't take full advantage of it.  (National University, Principles of Software Engineering course, July '94)

Always enjoy the classes with Dr. Kettemborough. I feel I have learned a lot in this class. Too bad I only have one more class left in computers. (Chapman University, Operating Systems course, June '94)

The midterm was outstanding, essay questions covered every chapter. Best class I have had since starting Chapman. (Chapman University, Computer Architectures course, March '94)

Glad to get an instructor that expects the student to learn! (National University, Programming Languages course, March '94)

Cliff is very knowledgeable in a number of related areas. He is very patient and makes sure subject area is understood.. The instructor is very knowledgeable. (Azusa Pacific University, Introduction to Data Processing and BASIC Programming course, January '93
